What is storyweaving?

Biblical storyweaving is an enriching approach to conversations that helps us explore one another’s life stories in the light of Scripture, to the end that we experience living in God's great story for us. This is more than a program or presentation. It’s a dynamic process that is adapted to each personal conversation. Does that sound amazing? It is!

Imagine an approach to outreach and spiritual formation that has all the following characteristics:

  • Live, participative training and implementation

  • “Active listening” and conversation that is engaging, natural, respectful, memorable

  • Adaptable for diverse situations, cultures, languages

  • Good for one conversation or many

  • Serves equally well for spontaneous or planned conversations

  • A Scripture-centric process that helps people to focus on God’s truth

  • Personally relevant and timely

  • Can do without technology, props, or large resources

  • Useful for people of any ethnicity or educational background

  • A joy to participate in

  • Complements all other forms of outreach and discipleship

  • Is being used by God to transform lives!

That is biblical storyweaving!

For further clarification, here is what biblical storyweaving is not:

  • It is not a win-lose debate

  • It is not a heated argument

  • It is not a “sales” presentation

  • It is not coercion or manipulation

  • It is not for competing with other approaches

  • It is not a Bible storytelling “dump truck”

  • It is not about lectures and workbooks
